The Journey
Materials: Acrylic paint on canvas Year: 2021 Class: Beginning Art Studio (Period 7) Everyone wants peace in their life. Many people strive to find ways to get it. Whether it is meditating, or taking a long walk on the beach, people still have consuming thoughts barricading their journey of finding tranquility. In this painting, I envision my adolescent self taking a walk through the mountains, while trying to control my thoughts about the future, I try to clear my head with the fumes of nature. I focused on using different shades of green, to express the color as a zen and peaceful feeling. As I followed through my walk in the mountains, I viewed them to look far apart, to convey my journey as a long path. Finding peace takes time, no matter how long the journey is, there is always a path to it. |
Women
Materials: Acrylic paint on canvas Year: 2021 Class: Beginning Art Studio (Period 7) When I think of the word “women”, I think of smart, sexy, and seductive. Society viewed women as objects all throughout history. But I want women to know that they have the power. The most strongest, the most powerful, the most dangerous creature on this Earth, is a woman that knows how to think. As I was planning out my art piece, my head immediately went to Marilyn Monroe. Society viewed her as this object, but she was more than that. She was an activist for women's rights. I think women need to support each other, to end corrupting views of society. To show this, I used the bold colors black and red. I positioned the figure in a seductive way to make her look confident. Women are and will always be dominant no matter how society views them. |
